Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd shutting down Karnataka Refinery with Water Scarcity
MRPL for Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd shuts down a refinery in Karnataka state.
MRPL’s Karnataka Refinery with a capacity of 15 million tonne and has water supply from Nethravathi River.
As stoppage of water supply to Karnataka Refinery plant, the plant getting water scarcity for normal refinery activities.
The Karnataka Refinery requires 5.5 millions of Gallon (mgd) of water from Nethravathi River.
As the decrease in adequate water availability and water supply the overall refinery activities are shortened in the month of March 2012 and finally due to this water scarcity problem, Karnataka Refinery of MRPL stands for Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd has shut down on 11 th of this April 2012.
